Colmcille are credited with winning the first Gaelic football senior championship in Longford in 1890. This would make them one of the oldest winners of any GAA competition in Ireland. Indeed the GAA was not formally established until 1884.
There are no official records of another final played in the county until 1904, won by Longford Leo Caseys. In all Colmcille have won seven senior county titles. In 2022 the won their most recent and first since 2008.
