Mullagh HC
Mullagh GAA club was founded in 1884. The club jersey is green and white hoops. Gaelic games had been played in the Mullagh area for more than 100 years before the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association. A game called "hurling over the ditch" was said to have been played and is part of the old folklore of the area.
The club has been more successful at hurling having won three Galway senior county titles and produced some famous intercounty hurlers such as -
Iggy Clarke, Joe Clarke, Séamus Coen, Gerry Coone, Pete Finnerty, Derek Hardiman and Tony Reddin
