North District GFC
The 'North District' 'group team' is made up of six clubs - An Tóchar, Kilcoole, Kilmacanogue, Enniskerry, Newcastle and Fergal Óg. (1 Intermediate, 3 Junior A, 1 Junior B, 1 Junior C). These clubs field nine adult teams of their own between them, while three of these clubs field only one team each (Kilcoole, Newcastle and Fergal Óg). Between them these clubs have a catchment area of 20,477 people (15% of Wicklow's total population) across an area of 150 km sq in the north-east of the county
Wicklow county board hope the amalgamation of these clubs will raise the standard of football in the county by giving more players access to senior football as seen in the Kerry football championship for example.
