GAA club based in Mullingar county Westmeath. Founded in 1893, club colours are black and amber. The Downs parish made up of 4 townlands: Greatdown, Newdown, Castledown and Wood-down. The Downs crest has a heather, a bridge, trees and a castle representing the 4 townlands of the Downs.

The Downs have never won the Westmeath senior football championship, but came very close in the mid 1970's. They reached the final in 1973, 1975 and 1976. The 1976 final even went to a replay.
