Jason Forde is one of the most prolific and consistent forwards of his generation, a cornerstone of Tipperary hurling for over a decade. Born in 1993 and hailing from the Silvermines club, Forde made his senior inter-county debut in 2013 and has since become renowned for his accuracy, composure, and leadership in the forward line. With over 50 senior appearances, he has amassed an impressive scoring tally, including standout performances in All-Ireland campaigns and National League fixtures.
Forde played a key role in Tipperary’s All-Ireland triumphs in 2016 and 2019, contributing vital scores and calm leadership. His ability to convert frees and 65s with metronomic precision has made him Tipp’s go-to marksman, while his movement and vision in open play consistently unlock defenses. In June 2025, he underlined his class with a 2-5 haul against Laois in the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final, earning a nomination for GAA.ie Hurler of the Week.
At club level, Forde has been a talisman for Silvermines, leading them to county and Munster intermediate titles in 2012. A former Fitzgibbon Cup winner with the University of Limerick, he combines athleticism with a sharp hurling brain. Quiet off the field but lethal on it, Jason Forde remains a vital figure in Tipperary’s pursuit of glory.
