Silvermines GAA plays hurling, camogie, Gaelic football and handball at county level and in the North division of Tipperary GAA. Club colours are blue and white.

The clubs most famous former player is Noel Sheehy. Noel represented Tipperary for over a decade and won two All Irelands. Current Tipperary player Jason Forde, who scored two points in the 2016 All Ireland final as Tipperary defeated Kilkenny is also a Silvermines club man.
